DIY Paper Quilling Christmas Decorations

Materials Required for creating these Christmas decorations:

  • Quilling strips of 3mm
  • Quilling slotted tool
  • Glue
  • Jump rings
  • Craft floss
  • Circle guides
  • Wiggly eyes
  • Pliers

So let’s start with creating Quilling Christmas decorations First will start by: Creating Paper Quilling Christmas candle

Christmas decoration - craftylity

Step 1:

Take white Quilling strip of 8 inches long in length and create tight coil by rolling it with Quilling slotted tool. Create 10 such small white tight coils.

Step 2:

For creating large leaves, take green strips of 17 inches long and roll it with the slotted tool. Take the coil out form the tool without applying glue to it. Hold the coil in your index finger and thumb and allow it to unroll a little. Now apply glue to the end of the strip and pinch and twist it from one side to create the leaf like shape. Create 2 such shapes.

Step 3:

If we are creating a candle then will also need to create a flame and for creating flame take the yellow strip of 8 inches long and orange of 17 inches long. Glue the ends of both strips together and roll it with the tool to create the loose coil. Pinch the loose coil from one end to create the teardrop shape.

Step 4:

Its time to create small leaves and for this take green strips of 8 inches long and the procedure is same as done in step 2. create 4 such shapes.

Step 5:

Glue the white coils in the set for 2 to create candle base. Stick Orange teardrop shape over the base. Glue both the large leaves at the bottom of the candle and glue small leaves over large leaves, refer image.

Step 6:

Take the jump ring and open it with pliers. Insert the jump ring through orange teardrop and close it. Attached craft floss with the jump ring and Quilling Christmas candle is ready.

Creating Paper Quilling Christmas Candy Stick

Step 7:

Create red and white color tight coils by using 8 inches of strips. Also, create small leaves of 8 inches long green strip.

Step 8:

Glue red and white coils alternatively in candy shape or J letter shape.

Step 9:

Glue leaves on both the sides of the candy.

Step 10:

Connect jump ring and attach floss to it and quilling Christmas candy stick is ready.

Creating Paper Quilling Christmas Wreath

Step 11:

Take 4 strips of brown strip each of 21 inches long. Glue all the strips together thus we will get  84 inches long strip. Wrap this strip around any round object which will be around 2 inches in diameter.

Step 12:

Take red stip of 8 inches long and teardrop shape, create 6 such teardrop shapes. Also, take 4 inches long strip and create the tight coil. Glue all the teardrops together and stick yellow tight coils in the center of the flower.

Step 13:

Glue the flower inside of the brown coil and also glue some leaves created by using  8 inches long green strip.

Step 14:

Connect jump ring with the brown coil and attach craft floss to it. Thus paper Quilling Christmas Wreath is ready.

Creating Paper Quilling Christmas Tree

Step 15:

Take the green strip of 8 inches long and create loose coils. We need 15 such coils.

Step 16:

Grab some 3 inches long strips of different colors and create few tight coils. This will be the decorations.

Step 17:

Time to glue all the elements together, start with sticking green coils in the triangle shape. Glue brown rectangle below the green triangle and thus our tree is ready. Decorate the tree by sticking tight coils of different color on a tree.

Step 18:

Create the trunk of a tree by creating the loose coil of 17 inches long brown coil. Hold the coil with both the hands and pinch it from both sides (thus we will create marquise shape), turn the coil and pinch it again from other sides to create the rectangular shape.

Step 19:

Connect jump ring with the top green coil and attach craft floss to it. Thus paper Quilling Christmas tree is ready.

Creating Paper Quilling Reindeer

Step 20:

For creating Reindeer, take 4 brown strips each of 17 inches long in length and create a tight coil.

Step 21:

Now, take 1 brown strip of 17 inches long and create the loose coil. Hold the coil in both the hands and pinch and bend it from one side. Create 2 such shapes.

Step 22:

Glue both the shapes on the tight coil as shown in above picture.

Step 23:

Take 17 inches long red strip and create the tight coil. Glue this tight coil in the center of the tight brown coil.

Step 24:

Take cream strip of 17 inches long and brown strip of 8 inches long and glue them together. Create the loose coil. Hold the coil from both the hands and pinch it from both sides to create marquise shape. Create 2 such marquise shape.

Step 25:

Take the brown strip of 8 inches long and create marquise shape. Create 2 such shapes. Also, create small marquise take thebrown strip of 4 inches long and create marquise shape. Create 2 such shapes.

Step 26:

It’s time to glue all elements together, refer image.

Step 27:

Stick wiggly eyes.

Step 28:

Attach jump ring and craft floss with it and our quilling reindeer is ready.
